Police Accountability Committee (PAC)

The Police Accountability Committee is a group that acts as a liaison between the police department and the community it serves. This platform provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and to discuss issues impacting the Greenwood community. The committee is made up of several members of the community. Members are required to attend 20 hours of training such as ride-a-longs, attending a citizen’s police academy, and taking useful courses. The goal is to give non-law enforcement individuals a better understanding of how the police work, which will help them provide better advice to police leaders.

The PAC works in a proactive manner to:

  • Discuss crime prevention programs with an emphasis on community-oriented policing
  • Discuss safety enhancing issues to improve Town climate
  • Build trust to address community concerns related to the quality of life
  • Collaborate to improve upon the delivery of police services to the community
