FOR 3 TOWN COUNCIL SEATS – 2 YEAR TERM FOR EACH SEAT

NOTICE OF SOLICITATION OF CANDIDATES FOR 2026

3 COUNCIL SEATS OPEN – 2 YEAR TERM FOR EACH SEAT

Procedure for declaring candidacy is as follows:

• Each candidate for Town Councilperson shall notify the Town Manager in writing of their candidacy: O. Box 216; Greenwood, DE 19950.
• All notifications of candidacy shall be filed with the Town Manager not later than five o’clock in the afternoon, prevailing time, on Friday, December 12, 2025. Such notification of candidacy shall be upon a Candidate Filing Form furnished by the Town of Greenwood, which said document shall be dated, signed by the candidate, and notarized if such form is not completed in the Town Hall office.

Qualifications for members of Town Council:

• Each member shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Each member shall be a citizen of the United States and of the State of Delaware and a bona fide Town of Greenwood resident for at least thirty (30) days.
• Each of the qualifications for members of the Town Council shall be continuing qualifications to hold office and the failure of any member of the Town Council to have any of the qualifications required by Section 5 of the Town Charter during their term of office shall create a vacancy in the office.

REQUEST FOR ABSENTEE BALLOT – Any voter who is qualified under Section 1 of Ordinance C-5-A to vote by absentee ballot and who desires to do so, may request an absentee ballot from the Town Manager by filing a written statement with the Town Manager no later than noon the day before the Municipal Election. An elector may submit a written or electronic request to the Town of Greenwood for the Town’s prepared statement form, which the Town of Greenwood shall forward to the elector upon receipt of a request therefore.
